Device Upgrade $830 Promo Credit Switches Mid Checking Out?!?!

Mid check-out, my amount via trade-in goes from $830 via monthly bill credits to only $390. What gives? Support has no clue what to do and tells me i need to upgrade my plan, but we're already on the premium unlimited.
