Can't send pictures as a text messsage.

I recently went to Xfinity mobile from Verizon.  I've read a lot about folks not being able to send pictures as a text message (MMS).  I am in the same boat.  Is there a workaround for this?  I read that turning off WiFi on my phone would do the trick but it did not.  I never had this issue while on Verizon.  The only 'pictures' I can send are emojis. Things such as animated GIFS and photos don't make it to the sender.  I did get a return message once stating that I supplied an invalid address which is not true.

Does Xfinity purposely curtail sending anything but text as a way to cut costs?  Any help on my problem will be appreciated.

This happens on a Motorola and Samsung phone.

@streetwolf

I have a moto g power (2021).

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network. Turn on the setting where it says
MMS messages
Send & receive when mobile data is off

I'm able to send pictures with the setting on, but not when it's off. Try and see if it works for you. I don't have a Samsung, so check and see if there's a similar setting.

After many hours on the phone and instructed to all kinds of things I got an agent who told me she was going to do something on her end and when I lose my connection to her (I was on my cell phone with her) I should powe/on my phone.  I have no idea what she did but I can now send MMS messages.  Go figure.

This is incredibly unhelpful. I had a similar call and it fixed nothing. Would be nice to know what the rep did so i can recommend it to the next one I talk to. I have the same problems.

I am experiencing the same thing as Street wolf. I am brand new to Xfinity mobile, and so far not impressed. I just switched over from Verizon. Having difficulty sending text messages that include emoji‘s or pictures. I get an error message failure to send. This most recent incident was to an android phone and a non-Comcast Xfinity client. Are we only able to send pictures and emojis to Xfinity mobile clients? That would be a reason for me to change back. Not user-friendly at all. Having difficulty getting access to Xfinity mobile application. I spent three hours trying to resolve the issue between Xfinity chat and a live agent, and all they did was mess up other things. I wonder if Xfinity will ever get their act together.

I agree with Street Wolf. I just changed over to Xfinity mobile from Verizon. I am not able to send emojis or pictures to some individuals in my contact list. This was never an issue with Verizon. Does Verizon only allow sending pictures in emoji‘s within text messages to Xfinity Comcast clients? And try to send to someone that is not an Xfinity client and has an android phone.

I spent over three hours trying to resolve the issue today with chat and over the phone with no resolution. Actually created other issues I now have to try to resolve.

unfortunately I’m less than impressed with Xfinity mobile at this point. Seriously considering going back to Verizon after only 24 hours of having Xfinity mobile.

I had same issue. To fix, I went Settings-> Messages -> toggled on “MMS Messaging”

Now am able to attach photos to my text messages. Hope this helps :)
