Cannot connect to XFINITY wifi network

I just switched to Xfinity Mobile and my phone keeps trying to automatically connect to XFINITY wifi networks but it keeps failing and I get the error message "Available via Xfinity Mobile / IP configuration failure"

Hi there, @user_1b106d. Thanks for visiting our forums and bringing your connection issues to our attention. I've run into this issue myself. What worked for me and the first method I recommend you should try is to forget the network and sign into it again. The steps to take are fairly simple, and sometimes this is all it takes to get rid of the “Failed to obtain IP address” discrepancy.

@XfinityJay​ I have tried that multiple times as well as rebooting my phone and doing a reset on all wifi settings.

I wonder if there is an issue with the available connection itself since the steps did not help. Are you seeing this same error at multiple locations for our hotspots or are you usually at the same location when the network is available? 

I am an Official Xfinity Employee.

I'm on here for the same issue. When I find an xfinity hot spot I cannot use it - no error message, just nothing happens. I have to turn on wifi and use data. Are you saying I should forget the xfinity network and find it again?

@robd4g6j I would start by forgetting the network all together and make sure that you have the Xfinity WiFi app installed and signed in and then try to connect to the hotspot. 

I no longer work for Comcast.

I have also been unable to connect to the secure XFINITY hotspots. This happens to me in all different locations, even in the Xfinity store. When I try to connect my phone will say "connecting," then it stops trying and connects me to the non-secure hotspot.

There is a thread at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-mobile/wifi-profile-mangement-has-been-disabled/61326e378ea20f79f83ec854  that was escalated on December 29, 2021. No one here, in a store, or at the 888 number has been able to help. We're all still waiting for someone who can help resolve this issue.
