Agent error on my account

The customer service representative I spoke with never informed me that canceling my Xfinity Mobile service to switch to another carrier would permanently result in losing my phone number. I was unaware about the transfer pin needed before canceling. Instead, he immediately proceeded with the cancellation, and the call was disconnected without any warning because my service had been terminated.

After realizing what had happened, I spent hours on the phone with multiple representatives and visited an Xfinity store hoping to recover my phone number, but no one was able to help. What has been most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. No one has acknowledged that I should have been warned before my service was canceled or shown any concern for the situation.

Losing a phone number I've had for years has been incredibly disruptive, and this entire experience has been deeply disappointing. I expected much better communication and customer service from Xfinity. I hope someone will review what happened, take responsibility for the way this was handled, and work with me to make this right.

user_looge5 Thank you for taking time out of your day to bring your recent experience to our attention. A mobile line needs to remain active during the porting process in order for it to transfer to the new carrier, and I wish this had been explained more clearly. I can definitely investigate the interaction in more detail to make sure these situations are handled correctly going forward.
