Restore deleted voicemails — Xfinity Voice help (Answered)

In some cases, a voicemail that was deleted by mistake can be retrieved before it becomes permanently unavailable. This article outlines the steps to retrieve a deleted voicemail using your phone, or using the Xfinity Voice website.

Retrieval by phone

A deleted voicemail can be retrieved only if you have not logged out of the voicemail system or if you press 5 while in the voicemail main menu.

To retrieve a voicemail while still in the voicemail system:

  1. Press * to go to the Main Menu.
  2. Press 6 to hear the deleted messages.
    • The system begins to play the deleted messages.

After listening to the message, you can:

  1. Press 9 to mark the deleted message as a new message.
  2. Press # to skip to the next message.
  3. Press 0 for more options.
  4. Press * to go back to the Main Menu.

Once you log out of the voicemail system, the deleted messages will be removed permanently.

Retrieval using the Xfinity Voice Website

When a message is deleted it is moved into the Trash folder. To retrieve a deleted voicemail using Xfinity Voice:

  1. Sign in to Xfinity Voice using your Xfinity ID and password.
  2. Click on the Trash folder on the left side of the screen.
  3. To recover a single voicemail, click on the Options menu at the end of the voicemail and choose Recover.

the options menu will allow you to recover individual voicemails

  4. To recover multiple voicemails, click on the checkboxes next to the name in the voicemails.
    • A check mark will appear to indicate that you selected the voicemails.
  5. Select Actions at the top of the voicemail list and then choose Recover to move the voicemails back into the Voicemail folder.

You can recover deleted voicemails in the trash screen

Note: A message is automatically deleted 24-48 hours after it is placed in the Trash folder and cannot be retrieved after that amount of time.
