ANSWERED: How to Make International Calls with Xfinity Voice?

***Updated 8/27/2026***

With Xfinity Voice, it's easy to make international phone calls with your home phone to over 200 countries.

Make an international phone call

For international calls outside of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP):

  1. Dial 011.
  2. Enter the country code.
  3. Dial the number.
Note: Dial 0 or 00 for help connecting your call.

For calls inside of the NANP (Canada and some Caribbean countries):

  1. Enter the area code.
  2. Dial the number.

See Country Codes for a list of telephone country codes and international area codes.

Review our International Calling Rates.

Restrict toll or international calls

Call restriction allows you to restrict toll and/or international calls to your home phone.

See Use the Call Screening Feature with Xfinity Voice to learn more about adding international numbers to your Call Screening list. However, please note:

  • Telephone numbers from Canada and some Caribbean countries may be able to be blocked; however, you may need to contact us for assistance.
  • Telephone numbers from outside of the NANP (most international numbers with the exception of Canada and some Caribbean countries) cannot be blocked.

How international calling plans are billed — FAQs

Find out how Xfinity Voice Carefree Minutes international calling plans are charged, including changes made during the billing cycle.

Note:

  • As of March 25, 2024, Carefree Minutes World Select 300 and Latin America 300 plans are no longer offered for sale.
  • Customers who already had these plans can still use them.

Am I billed per line or at the account level?

International calling plans apply to the account. One calling plan applies to all your lines.

How is the per-minute charge calculated?

Usage is billed to the whole minute and rounded up. For example, a one minute plus one second call is billed at two minutes.

What happens if I add the calling plan partway through my billing cycle?

When you add a calling plan in the middle of the billing cycle:

  • Calls made before the date the calling plan was added are charged at the regular rate.
  • You get the full block of time for use until the end of your billing cycle. A new block of time starts and the old one ends two days before a billing cycle date.

What happens if I remove the calling plan partway through my billing cycle?

When you remove a calling plan in the middle of the billing cycle:

  • Calls made after the date the calling plan was removed are charged at the regular rate.
  • Calls before the plan is remove get the full block of time.

What happens if I use more than the block of time allowed?

If you go pass your block of time, you are billed at the regular international per-minute rates for each minute over. See international rates for more details.

  • Some call plans have discounted per-minute rates.

Can unused minutes be carried over to the next billing cycle?

No, they cannot.

With the Carefree Minutes Latin America 300 plan, will the mobile minutes count toward the block of time?

Yes. Mobile minutes to six countries will count against the 300 minute block of time. Those countries are:

  • Brazil
  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Costa Rica
  • Dominican Republic and
  • Venezuela
