xfinity has the WORST phone service

contacted the BBB to file a complaint.

xfinity keeps your number and doesn't let you port out. I'm not paying one red cent.

BEWARE OF XFINITY MOBILE 

IT ISN'T WORTH IT !!!!

kellyh1 Good morning, and welcome to our Xfinity Forums Community. It's possible the hotspot could have been a private hotspot that has been turned off or no longer active. Are you able to see other hotspots in the area? I'd be happy to check on our side to be sure there isn't a bigger issue. When you get a moment, can you please send a Direct Message with your name and service address?
 
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
Press Enter to send it

We have not heard of a scenario that would prevent you from being able to port your number to another provider. There is usually a hand-off that takes place between us and the competitor, and it is normally completed very quickly. Can you please elaborate on why you are being told you can't port your number?
