Xfinity does not text my Canadian cell phone

I have gone around and around to find an answer that Xfinity assistant can not provide help with. 

I am a Canadian snowbird who simply wants to be able to receive texts from Xfinity to my Canadian phone. It appears Xfinity will not do that.  WHY? Other American companies happily text my Canadian phone. Why not Xfinity????

Did I mention I spent a LONG time trying to connect to a live agent? Is that even possible?????

I’m finally conversing with a real, live person?

Please tell the corporate bosses an Xfinity customer should be able to do this more easily. 

I have no concerns other than being unable to receive texts on my Canadian phone. Is it Xfinity’s policy to not text a Canadian phone?

@user_pkm9qh - Yes, on this platform, we are a team of live agents (currently available 6 AM - 12 AM ET). And we'll always pick back up wherever we last left off when it's most convenient for you :)

 

At this time, we primarily send alerts to US-based phone numbers, that is correct.

 

I appreciate your feedback! And I'm glad to hear that you have no other concerns at this time. Remember, you can Manage Your Communications Settings, opting to receive alerts via email so that you don't miss anything! Text is not the only option we provide, so please let me know if this helps or if you run into any trouble updating your settings/preferences.

Thank you for confirming what I already knew. 

There must be many Canadians who are Xfinity customers. Surely you have the ability to change your policies and/or programming to allow texts to your Canadian customers’ phones. Very disappointing.

To receive text notifications from Xfinity for your account you do need to have US based cell number.
