Voicemail Stopped Working

Sometime in the last month or so, my voicemail stopped working (i.e., I cannot access it by holding 1 on the dial pad, dialing *86, or dialing my own phone number).  I just discovered this fact.  The voicemail app does not indicate any issues.  I tried restarting the phone, clearing data/ cache of the phone and voicemail apps.  Nothing worked.

Samsung S23+ with Android 14, One UI 6.1

Voicemail App 18.2.00.19

My wife has the exact same setup, but she is not experience this issue.

@patrickd02 You should reach out to Xfinity Mobile support for assistance. They most likely will need to perform a voicemail reset on your account. In the meantime, try this; Put your phone in airplane mode. Borrow your wife's phone and dial your number. Does it go to voicemail? If so, press the star key * during your greeting to get the password prompt, and listen to your messages that way.

You can reach Xfinity Mobile support one of these methods;

SMS Text Message: 1 (888) 936-4968

Phone: 1 (888) 936-4968

Chat:  https://www.xfinity.com/xfinityassistant/?channel=xMobile

@DreamSayerZ When you call my number (whether in airplane mode or not), the call with never go to voicemail.  The call will either terminate immediately (when in airplane mode) or it will ring many times before finally terminating (when not in airplane mode).  Thank you, I will reach out to Xfinity Support for a voicemail reset...

@patrickd02 Ok. That test just confirms the problem is with the voicemail system on your account.

Howdy patrickd02! Xfinity Assistant chat is really easy to have reset the voicemail. Just as a heads-up, make sure you back up any previous messages to avoid losing messages during the reset. To back up, open the voicemail app, select the voicemail you want to save, and tap Save, Save to Phone, or Archive. You can also select a storage location for the voicemail

@XfinityThomasB

Thank you!  The Xfinity Assistant chat was very helpful.  Though, getting started was a little tricky.  Typing "Voicemail" or "Voicemail Reset" did not get me where I need to go.  I recommend advising others to type "Support" to start then selecting "Xfinity Mobile".  That should get people down the right path the first time. Again, thank you for your comment.  It was really helpful in resolving my issues...

I am glad that @DreamSayerZ and @XfinityThomasB were able to get you to the right place to have this fixed. We appreciate your feedback on how we can be clearer to get an issue with your mobile device resolved by first typing Xfinity Mobile in the Xfinity Assistant chat. We want things to be easy, especially when you need to reach out through another channel. That is very helpful!
