Security mode locked in WPA-3, certain devices will not connect.
Recently my wifi updated to automatically manage “some of my settings” to “optimize my network.” However, this means that the security mode is currently locked and greyed out on WPA-3 Personal only, and certain devices, like the Xbox and Ring Cameras, will not connect anymore as they need WPA-2 or a transition mode with both WPA-3 and WPA-2. I was on the phone with support for over an hour and they sent out a new modem and everything, only for the same exact problem to occur. I need someone to unlock the security mode setting or manually change it to a security mode that these devices are able to connect to. Very frustrated.

Thank you so much for reaching out for help with your managed WIFI settings. The issue you are describing is more than likely related to the WIFI channel your devices are now being automatically connected to on your network. You do have a 2.4gHz network and a 5gHz option. When using the setting the your devices may not be able to see the correct network it needs to work. When this happens we do recommend to split the WIFI bands so the devices you are working with in your home can more clearly identify the network they need in order to connect.
To split the networks 1. Open the Xfinity app on your mobile device and log in with your Xfinity ID and password.
2. Tap the WIFI tab at the bottom navigation bar.
3. Select View WIFI details (or View WIFI equipment).
4. Tap Edit WIFI settings at the bottom of the screen.
5. Toggle or slide the Split bands option to ON (Xfinity marks this as "not recommended").
6. Customize the individual names and passwords for your 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and/or 6 GHz networks so you can tell them apart.
7. Tap Save or Apply changes to confirm.
Try swapping that back to a split connection and let me know if they are able to connect.
