Never trust Xfinity agents.
I fell for the pitch from an Xfinity agent at the Waldorf, MD store and switched to Xfinity Mobile — even brought a few friends along. What a nightmare that turned out to be.
First, they charged a setup fee — who still does that these days? Then the monthly bill was way higher than what the agent originally told us, and it kept changing every month with confusing charges.
After two months, I went back to the store and was told, “Don’t worry, your promotion will kick in after three months.” It never did. Instead, the bill kept going up. By six months, another agent admitted that the first one had basically misled us.
Thankfully, I didn’t fall for their “free device” offer — my friends and I brought our own phones, which made it easier to switch to Google Fi later. Way cheaper, and the billing is actually transparent.
Lesson learned: never trust sales pitches. Always read the fine print (AI can help you summarize it these days). And please, please, please — bring your own device. Don’t get tricked by a tiny discount.
