Mobile Phone Activation Horror Story

I have been on the phone with xfinity for at least 8 hours over the past 2.5 days trying to get my phone number activated on a port-over from Consumer Cellular. Finally today xfinity tells me that the number is "now at xfinity" but that a "network error" will take up to an additional 72 hours to resolve. This is beyond frustrating -- to be without a phone since Tuesday morning.  I've spoken to 6 different people and no one seems to take ownership of the problem, and no one ever returns a call with an update.  I have now officially given up on xfinity.

@user_72a57b Thanks for posting. The 72 hours is the standard window for ports. It allows the two services to transfer the number and confirm it's been handed off, but the goal is always sooner. If it's not complete successfully, be sure to contact the Xfinity Mobile team by calling or texting 1 (888) 936-4968.
