International data roaming charges

Traveled out of the country and purchased an eSIM for the trip! Contacted Xfinity prior to trip and wanted to be clear that we knew how to not be charged by Xfinity. I indicated that we would not be activating the Global Travel Pass because of the eSIM. During the trip texts would be received each time we landed in a new country but we did not use the travel pass, turned off cellular data and thought that was all we needed to do. Now, we have an additional $130 on the phone bill which is what we were trying to avoid by purchasing an eSIM due to the length of the trip! Can someone at Xfinity assist? Thank you

Good evening, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums regarding your international roaming charges @user_rj29a1, we appreciate it.

I understand that you mentioned Global Travel Pass was not enabled on your line. In that situation, international data usage is billed at the standard pay-per-use rate of $0.30 per MB of data. This is the default international data option unless you have added Global Travel Pass, the Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass, or your plan includes those benefits.

Please also be aware that even if you have Global Travel Pass or the Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass, pay-per-use rates may still apply in countries not covered by those plans.

Because these sound like they are valid roaming charges that were incurred based on usage, we are unable to issue credits for legitimate international roaming charges.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns, and we'll be happy to help review them with you.
