Identity theft
Since getting signed up with xfinity mobile I've had my identity stolen. As soon as I activated my phone I started getting emails from banks, thanking me for applying for accounts that I never applied for. Not only did they apply for bank accounts but also for a car loan and a freaking mortgage with my credentials. The person that called to get me set up indeed set up my account but I also believe that either they stole my info and sold it or xfinity has a very active hacker. Then my two phones that I ordered both came with damage. I called and got them replaced. Now I have this 888 266 2278 number calling, Hindu accented man asking me for permission to access my account via text links so he can verify that the phone was set up. That's how my info got stolen in the first place. Hello??? I hung up at this point. I had already called xfinity to set the phone up so my account should not need to be accessed. I have already contacted all the proper authorities about this incident. I filed a claim with xfinity fraud department and I really hope you're taking this seriously as I have not heard back from them yet. I'm sorry but no entity should need people's ssn to verify anything. That number was explicitly only to be used for tax purposes and retirement benefits. Shame on every single business that feels they're entitled to it.
