Dual sim

I have an iPhone 14 with dual sim function. I have a UK 02 sim (physical sim) which I need to keep active (I'm British living 50% time in USA)  02 uses TMobile as its network in USA.

I want to add an Xfinity eSim to the same phone but I'm told that the Xfinity eSim will scramble my UK service whilst in USA - Is this true?

@user_KL Xfinity Mobile allows for using 2 lines on a phone if it's unlocked. And you can use their service with another carriers service. I don't see why they would scramble anything. Can you reference where you heard or read this? And I assume you have your own device, as iPhone 14's sold in the US only had 2 ESIMs. No physical SIM slot.

Hello @user_KL, thank you for taking the time to reach out on social media. Xfinity eSIM activation will not affect your UK service while in the USA. The eSIM functionality allows for easy activation of Xfinity Mobile services on compatible devices without interfering with existing services from other carriers. Customers can activate eSIM on select iPad models and eSIM-capable Android devices, ensuring a seamless experience without any impact on their UK service while using Xfinity Mobile in the USA. It's important to note that eSIM activation is a convenient process that does not disrupt services from other providers.

@XfinityKrista Thanks Krista - Assume this will be fine on an iPhone 14 Pro Max with dual sim also.

I tried to purchase an eSim over the phone to Xfinity and was warned off it by the Xfinity representative. I'm a little frustrated that i have now missed the benefits i should have received in setting this up at the same time as purchasing home wifi.

@user_KL - Our Digital Care Team is awesome to work with, and it is our pleasure to help in any way that we can! Based on some quick research, here's what I've found:

No, adding an Xfinity eSIM to your iPhone 14 with your existing O2 physical SIM will not "scramble" your UK service while in the USA; your phone should automatically switch between the strongest network signal, meaning you'll use your O2 (via T-Mobile) network when in the USA and your O2 UK network when back in the UK, as long as both networks are properly set up with the correct settings on your phone.

Dual SIM functionality:
Your iPhone 14 can use both your O2 physical SIM and the Xfinity eSIM simultaneously, allowing you to choose which network to use based on your location.

Network selection:
When in the USA, your phone will automatically prioritize the Xfinity network (since it's an eSIM and likely has a stronger signal), but when you return to the UK, it should switch back to your O2 network.

Carrier settings:
Ensure that both O2 (using T-Mobile) and Xfinity are properly configured with the correct network settings on your iPhone to ensure seamless switching.
