Arm and disarm your Xfinity Home system from the Xfinity Home app (Answered)

Learn how to use the Xfinity Home app to arm and disarm your Xfinity Home system.

Did you know? You can add rules to arm or disarm your system at a time you choose and turn on lights if an alarm is triggered.

Easy

Arm your system

On the Overview screen, the Armed/Disarmed icon shows the current Arm mode that your system is in: StayAwayNight, or Disarmed. Learn more about arm modes.

  1. Sign in to the Xfinity Home app.
  2. On the Overview screen, tap the Disarmed icon.
    • If the shield icon is gray, you need to close a door or window or bypass the sensor.

  3. On the Arm System screen, tap the icon for the Armed mode you want to activate.
  4. Authorize arming:
    • Android and Apple: Enter a valid keypad code.
    • Fingerprint ID (Android) or Touch ID (Apple): Touch the fingerprint icon.
    • Face ID (iPhone X): Your face is automatically scanned.

Notes:

  • If you've changed your keypad code since the last time you used your fingerprint or facial scan to arm or disarm your system, you will have to use the keypad.
  • If you don't have fingerprint or facial recognition set up:
    • Tap the fingerprint icon on the bottom-left of the Keypad screen to enable Fingerprint ID or Touch ID.
    • Tap Use Face ID at the bottom of the screen to enable Face ID.

Bypass sensors

A green shield means that your system is ready to be armed. A gray shield means that your system is not ready and will indicate that one or more sensors is open. You can bypass a sensor and then arm the system, but please be aware that the alarm will not sound if the sensor is triggered.

  1. Tap the Sensor Troubled message.

  2. On the next screen, select the troubled sensor.

Mobile screenshot of the Device settings page with a Communication failure message at the top and the Sensor is active toggle below. Under that are fields for Battery level, Signal strenth, Temperature, Sensor type, Serial no., Model no., and Manufacturer.

  4. It should display Sensor is bypassed.

  5. Return to the Overview screen. The system is ready to arm.
    • Remember — the sensor will stay bypassed until you turn it back on.

A green shield is labeled Disarmed with a message that one sensor is bypassed
