XBB1-A Backup Won't Pair

Recently I noticed that the light on my backup battery (XBB1-A) was blinking green.  This indicates that the battery wasn't paired with my gateway.  I have the XB6-T (Technicolor CGM4140COM) gateway.  The backup battery was paired in the past and only recently did I notice the blinking light.  I tried unplugging everything and reinstalling the backup battery per the instructions.  The battery simply won't pair with the gateway.  Any ideas how to remedy this situation?

Additionally... I tested the battery by making a phone call, then pulling the power plug, simulating a power outage.  It maintained the ongoing call for a few minutes.  Once I hung up the phone, and attempted to make a new outgoing call, I had no dialtone anymore.

I had this same issue. Login to the modem (10.0.0.1 with your admin password). Click on Troubleshooting -> Reset/Restore router, then click on Reset Battery. Wait about 15-20 minutes, and it should pair (the light will turn blue).
