Why does voicemail not notify me when I have new messages?

Up to a year or two ago, when I got new voicemail messages, it would say so on my phone and when I pressed the "on" button, I would get the stutter tone and dial tone.  Not any more, and I've gone weeks not realizing I had voicemails.  I checked the phone, and voicemail notifications are turned on.  Same with Xfinity.  Not getting the stutter tone suggests it's an Xfinity problem.  How do I get it rectified?

Hello, @srallen, we will do all we can to help with your Voicemail. Are you able to let us know if you use a personal answering machine? Or are you only using your Xfinity Voicemail box? Knowing this will determine the path we take to resolve the issue.

My phone has the capability of serving as an answering machine, but that capability is disabled.

I do get voicemails on Xfinity, but the stutter tone that indicates there are new voicemails does not happen.  I see that as being a problem on the Xfinity end.

I appreciate your reply. Since your personal answering machine is disabled, and you are only using your Xfinity Voicemail, we will want to take a closer look at your account, so we can work on that feature. Use the direct messaging icon on the top right corner of the page to send your name and service address to "Xfinity Support."
