No dial tone

Good evening. My home phone has no dial tone. When you try calling it from my cell, it goes straight to an xfinity answering machine. We got a new modem at Christmas and I don’t think the home phone has been working since then but I just noticed recently.

ianb373 Thanks for posting on our Community Forums for assistance with your phone service. I'm sorry to hear there's no dial tone. Have you tried unplugging and reconnecting the phone jack on the back of the modem? I would try all ports available. Once that is done, please reboot your modem manually or through our awesome Xfinity App. Once that is done, let us know if you see any difference. If not, please send us a DM with your name and service address for further assistance.
