No dial tone

When i first plugged in my modem to the phone line of the house all my phone Jacks had a dial tone.  And few minutes later no dial tone to all the Jack's and the modem said the phone is in use.  If I unplug the modem from the wall jack the modem no longer says it is in use.  Is this because I have adt security?

Consider having your home security service out to check your phone wiring. If it isn't correct, even if you get your phones to work, your security service may not.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I can't speak to if it is something with the ADT security. You would need to contact them to look into that concern. When you plug your home phone into the back of the modem itself are you able to get a dial tone?
