No dial tone on either home phone

My Xfinity Modem which had worked perfectly for several years suddenly dropped dial tone and I took my Modem back to Xfinity and picked up a new Gateway Modem # XB8. Still no dial tone, plugged both phones directly into the modem and still no dial tone.  HELP
