No dial tone after gateway replacement

I've recently replaced my gateway and now have no dialtone. I have plugged my phone directly into the one open voice port on the gateway, with still no dialtone.

Is there something that needs to be done on your end to restore dialtone?

If there is still no dial tone on your Xfinity Voice service, make sure all phones are on the hook and that cordless phone batteries are charged. You can also test different jacks: Plug a working corded phone into different jacks to see if the issue is isolated to one phone or jack. Also, try a direct connection to the Xfinity Gateway. Plug the phone directly into your Xfinity Wireless gateway to check if the issue is related to the wiring inside your home.

This is ths standard Chat answer, not new information AND does not restore the dial tone! How does one get this fixed?
