New Modem No Dial Tone

I replaced my XB7 modem with an XB8 modem from Xfinity yesterday because of dropped phone calls and internet freezing.  There is no longer any dial tone, but the VOIP was working with the XB7.  I worked with an Xfinity agent yesterday to get the internet to work with the XB8 and he successfully was able to get the internet working.  He worked to get the voice features to work, and said we needed to wait an hour for the changes he made to take effect.  He also said that after an hour or so I would receive a call on my cell phone to verify that sure voice was working via the modem.  That was a little over 22 hours ago and I still haven't received a call nor is there any dial tone.

I reached a tech and he was able to reconfigure the settings on the modem, and now have dial tone, can call out and in.
