Needing to update my modem for Xfinity Voice

I was notified by Netgear that I will need to update my modem, for use with the Comcast/Xfinity Voice Service.  On the Comcast/Xfinity web site, it recommends the Netgear CM2050V as the only modem to use for compatibility.  Reading posts from about 7 months ago, it is mentioned that this Modem is actually not compatible with the newer upload speeds.  Has this problem since been resolved?  If not, what is the fastest upload speed supported?  Are there any other newer modems which are recommended by Xfinity for home purchase?

Sounds like either Netgear or Comcast/Xfinity is confused. If we can believe the info for the CM2050V on https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned the device is now approved for "Wired Upload Speed Up to 485 Mbps", and it has always been supported for their Voice home phone service. The upload speed approval happened in just the past few weeks.

Hello, and thank you for joining the Xfinity Forums community to post your question, user_htwn5o. A benefit to choosing Xfinity is that you're able to use an Xfinity Gateway or purchase and use your own equipment. When shopping around, be sure to reference the Device info page to find modems that work with Xfinity service.

Can I ask which product on the "Device Info" page that is the one for my voice/internet service.  I have to "triple play" service that has tv too.

When you go to the device info page the device will say if it has built in voice services or not. It's also just a good recommendation to check with the manufacturer of the modem to see if it has voice services installed
