My phone service stopped working

My phone service stopped working after a support issue with my internet. Now I cannot reach anyone to diagnose it. The chat assistant only provided a PDF document but when those steps did not work, it did not forward me to an agent. I am stuck without a phone now.

Try unplugging all devices connected to the phone line, waiting a minute, and then plugging them back in.

If the problem persists, check for service outages in your area.

Good advice and I thank you for the response, but I had tried those steps and all the other steps provided by the stupid AI chat bot. I had tested more than one known working phone connected directly to the modem and still no dial tone. It was apparent the issue was within Xfinity's configuration. However, the Chat 'agent' flow stopped after providing guidance to perform the testing you described. There was no way to continue troubleshooting or contact an agent. I can't even begin to describe how angry and frustrated I was trying every angle possible to ask the questions differently in order to get a live agent to reach out to me. In the end, I simply stated 'cancel all services'. Only then did they call me back and restore my Xfinity Voice that they disabled when fixing an issue with my Internet services weeks ago. But even then, the live agent I was working with put me on hold while he restored the service then disconnected on me and did not call me back. He never confirmed with me if the service was working. We were simply disconnected. I picked up my home phone and had dial tone again. But he never called me back. He had my cell number because he called me! Gawd, what awful service.
