lost voice service

  I replaced my Xfinity gateway this morning to resolve a network issue. New unit is also a Xfinity gateway. After spending more than 1 1/2 hours on chat with Xfinity they were finally able to bring the new gateway on line and pick up all the household equipment. The only exception is that our voice/telephone service never restored leaving us without phone service. Tried to resolve. With Asst.  that proved useless. Any assistance would appreciated. About ready to dump Xfinity. As 30 years with them I am disappointed that it has come to this.
