Since a week I got the message "line in use" on the phone. Rebooting, or take the power off the phone doesn't work. How do I get it working again

Had same "line in use" problem. Phone did work when i plugged directly into modem. Problem was where a "medical alert" box was plugged into phone line. After resetting the "alert" box, all good.
