Landline phone no dial tone

i changed the gateway and now have no dial tone on the landline, and when i call it from cell it goes directly to voicemail. i checked everything and plugged it directly into gateway, but still nothing. Can you help?

yes. calls can get forwarded to my cell, but the landline doesn't ring and i still have no dial tone
