Landline calls cannot be answered

My landline rings but when I pick up the phone I hear nothing and the caller hears nothing. Have had this problem for at least a year. Have reset modem numerous times.

A traditional phone plugged in to a Jack does not seem to have this issue. Please advise.

Hi there @user_090f02 Thanks for taking the time out of your day to reach out to Xfinity on Forums! We are truly sorry you are having issues with your landline and would like to get this resolved for you asap. With your landline, is it plugged directly to the back of the modem or do you have the phone plugged into the jack?

It’s plugged into a Jack. After 90 minutes with agents on live chat, my problem was fixed remotely by a Comcast employee who said our calls were being forwarded to another random number because of a glitch.
