Land line port for elderly mom
My parents (late 80s) have had the same land line for decades. About 2 weeks ago I started the process to port the land line to my mom's new nursing home. She has mild dementia, cancer and needs the same number and special equipment that she is familiar with. I've spent hours and hours on the phone with Xfinity and I'm at a total of maybe 10 calls with maybe 10-12 hours on this. I'm so frustrated!!! Most have said give it another 24-48 hours. today's call said give it another 5-7 days. Can't get to a supervisor no matter what you do. If anyone says I'll call you back they never call you back. the temp number that was assigned until the number was ported can't be activated. My mom is now supposed to wait another week with no ability to get incoming calls or make out going calls. I don't believe anything communicated to me any more. I'm ready to cancel all our accounts but don't want to lose the number they've had. Apologies for the long rant but if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, please let me know. You would think it wouldn't be this difficult. Mom doesn't have the ability to use a cell phone...
