I Can Make Calls But Cannot Receive Calls (Voicemail Works)

I have Xfinity Home Phone in a short term rental. I am here now and have been informed that our service has not been working properly since at least March.

Here’s a few facts:

-I CAN call out

-The phone rings 4X, sends caller to Voicemail and I CAN check it online

-BUT, when I try to call from my Verizon cell phone, I get this message after I answer the Xfinity home line: “Welcome to verizon wireless. Your call cannot be completed as the called party is temporarily unavailable.” So I cannot receive calls. My cell number even shows on the TV screen as a verified number.

Data points:

-I did get a new Xfinity modem last summer

-We enrolled in Nomorobo years ago (I have tried to disable this on Xfinity’s website under Advanced Call Forwarding, but get the following message, “Sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.”)

-I just learned of Xfinity’s Spam Blocker and changed some settings, but still am having the same issues

Help! Thanks!

Good afternoon user_bsg5z2. We would be happy to help you out with this.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.
