How to block all non-verified phone numbers on Xfinity Home phone service?

How do you block all non-verified phone numbers on Xfinity Home phone service?

None of the options listed in Xfinity Voice features that control nuisance and spam calls are effective at stopping non-verified phone numbers. Since the spammers/spoofers are using phone numbers of the area code of the Xfinity Home phone number, how to block ALL phone numbers from that area code? I know few people in this area code and those that I do know have my cell phone number.

Due to the lack of effectiveness of the options at the above link, I have litterally unplugged the phone from the gateway.

Thank you user_d3t94b for the post. Anonymous Call Rejection is the first thing that pops into mind, this is a feature designed to cut down on unwanted calls by automatically rejecting calls from numbers with Caller ID blocked. This includes all calls where the calling party has set their name to "Anonymous," "Private," "Unavailable" or "Null."

Use Anonymous Call Rejection

From your home phone

Deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection
  1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *87 and listen for a confirmation tone indicating the feature has been canceled.

Re-activate Anonymous Call Rejection
  1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *77 and listen for a confirmation tone indicating the feature has been activated.

@XfinityThomasB Thank you for taking the time to read the post. Unfortunately, as stated in the OP "None of the options listed in Xfinity Voice features that control nuisance and spam calls are effective at stopping non-verified phone numbers." Your suggestion is the third item in the second section. Anonymous call rejection is not effective nor applicable to blocking non-verified callers. This only applies to calls that use *67 to block their caller ID and/or appears as "anonymous" on the caller ID.

I am looking to, preferrably, block all non-verified numbers or to block all numbers in the area of the Xfinity Voice phone number.

Unfortunately user_d3t94b, there is not a way to block all local calls inbound. The reason this is not possible as it would interfere with public emergency hotlines, poison-control lines, and 911 services. We have a requirement to provide the access support and contact capability to the location as a telephone service provider.

OK. You can't block all numbers in an area code. How about just blocking all non-verified phone numbers? Anonymous calls can be identified and blocked. Phone numbers can be verified. Non-verified phone numbers can be determined (if they are not verified they are not-verified). Phone numbers can be blocked. Therefore it is possible to detect non-verified phone numbers and to block those numbers. How?

user_d3t94b Based on what you are looking to do, it is not possible to block all non-verified phone numbers. The tools we have mentioned previously are preventative to help limit them but there is no way to stop them completely. We also recommend going to (https://www.nomorobo.com/) as another measure you can take to limit unwanted calls from coming in.
