Home phone 2nd line set up

I've added a 2nd line to my xfinity home phone account successfully. How do I utilize the 2nd line? do I require a phone that accommodates 2 lines, or can I simply add a 2nd cordless phone set to my home and use it?

You just need a 2nd touch-tone phone, corded or cordless, plugged into the 2nd telephone connector on the gateway, no 2 line phone needed.
