dial tone

No dial tone with new xfinity installation. TV and internet work fine, the D-Link DSL-6300V is has two working lights for power and internet. My phone number was (should have been) ported over from Verizon. Troubleshooting via chat has not resolved the issue.

Says "Online" on the Xfinity website.

The device appears to be a DSL modem. I don't think it will work with Comcast/Xfinity internet. It isn't listed on the "All Compatible Devices" PDF link near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices (at the moment it points to https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2025.03.25 Full List of Compatible Devices.pdf, but this changes from time to time)
