Connecting Cable Modem Voice jack to home phone wiring.
I would like to connect the voice jack from my cable modem to the 'terminal' where all my phone lines in my house begin. I have few question about exactly how that is done. I have read that a filter has to be inserted between the modem's phone jack and any 'inhouse' wiring. Does the signal have to be boosted in any way. The phone company's 'incoming line' has a small amount of 'current' on it to power the phones. If you put a splitter on the modems voice jack can you connect two phones?
Any help will be appreciated.

Disconnect your previous telco from your home's phone wiring. If you happen to have a third party alarm system that uses the phone line, you should probably connect the modem's Line 1 jack to the same place where the telco line was connected.
If you don't have such an alarm system, you could just run a standard modular base cord from the modem to the nearest telephone jack to energize your home's phone outlets.
Either connection should allow any phone plugged in to any jack in the home to work.
You can use phone line splitter "Y" adapters to make one phone jack into two.
Filters are not needed on the phone lines with cable phone service.
The signal does not need to be "boosted".
