Connect xfinity home phone into existing g wiring

Greetings,

I subscribed to xfinity voice. I want to connect the phone in to my existing home phone  wired network. I disconnected the telco network at the NID box. I then ran a cable from the phone port on the back of the modem to a network jack. When I pick up any handset I am getting a fast busy. Any suggestions?

as a side note the coloring of the wire is mixed and matched. For example at the demarc a Yellow wire  is connected to the black connector and the Black wire is connected to the green connector. So

Does a phone work when you plug it directly into the Tel1 jack on the gateway? If it does, then you have a wiring problem. If not, there's something wrong with the way your service is set up and you'll need to contact Comcast by calling them at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or using one of the options on https://www.xfinity.com/support/contact-us/

@BruceW  thank you Bruce, yes the phone works when plugged in to the back of the modem. The hose is old and the wiring is messed up. I’ll need to figure that part out. I’ll have to try different combinations of wiring colors I guess.

Hi - I am having a similar problem, but i know the wiring is good in my case.  My telephone works connected direct to the modem, but when wired from the location of the modem to my office the connection in the office has a dead line.   This line worked fine with the old Xfinity modem (just minutes before i put in the new white box modem from Xfinity).  The internal wiring runs from the modem into the security system and back to a telephone splice, ultimately feeding several traditional telephone jacks in the house.   The house is using a two wire connection for the telephone lines, which again worked correctly on the prior xfinity modem, but doesn't work now.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you,
