Comcast Landline breached

My bank notified me that there was a breach that was executed by using my Comcast landline to complete the secondary authentication.

The bad actor was able to direct my bank's system to send the verification code as a phone call. The phone never rang at my home.

With this, they were able to access my account - but the Bank's fraud department identified the unusual activity, locked the account down, and notified us.

I called Comcast support and was transferred six times. No one wanted to hear that they were breached.

Each representative passed me on to the next department to address the issue.

They all gave the same response, "Our system is secure and shows no record of a breach".

I ask rhetorically - isn't that a sign of a successful breach, not leaving a trail?

I wish I could contact Noopur [Edited: "Personal Information"] directly - I could share the voice of the customer about how poorly the security support team represents the company.

@user_mb25t Thank you for posting on our community forum about the alert you received from your bank. Have you already reached out to our Customer Security Assurance team: https://spa.xfinity.com/help/network-abuse?faq=report-online-harassment so we can make sure your profile is secure?
Do you have call forwarding enabled: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/forward-calls-with-call-forwarding on your Xfinity Voice line?

@XfinityEmilyB yes, I spoke with the CSA team. I actually spoke with them twice. When I was transferred for the second time I gave up with working with your phone support and decided to try this forum.

In answer to your second question … I can confirm that call forwarding is not set for this line.

@XfinityEmilyB if someone at Xfinity were interested in contacting my bank so the two cyber security teams could investigate please DM me. It shouldn’t be this hard to report an issue and get the interest of those responsible for security.

@user_mb25t I feel it would be best to provide our CSA Team's contact info to your bank, so they can reach out directly. We appreciate your assistance with this.
