Can elderly clients get their land line number changed due to scammers?
My parents both have dementia and live in a retirment village. They get constant calls from scammers. This has been going on for years. I do my best to block but I fear my parents might get scammed.
If we request a different phone number and ask that callers NOT receive a forwarding number, aren't we just going to be getting someone else's old number who also may have been getting scam calls? And what about the poor person who gets their old number and is now the recipient of constant calls?
Xfinity truly needs to allow more than 25 blocked numbers. This is such a problem. Is it a big deal to request a different number?

I wanted to give an update.
We changed their phone number. They had had the same number for probably 40 years!
However, they haven't had a single spam call and that is what is most important.
We had to call so many people and I'm sure we've missed some but at least I don't have to worry about them as much.
