Calls go to voicemail when I pick up the home receiver and try to answer the call.

Calls coming in via my Xfinity voice line cause my home telephone to ring, but when I pick up and answer it, there isn't anyone on the line.  Then I find a message from them on my voicemail.  Why is Xfinity sending my incoming calls to voicemail when I answer the phone and how can I stop it?  I have the number of rings set at 5, but the calls are going to voicemail as soon as I pick up the receiver and try to answer the call.

I know phone issues are never enjoyable! Have you already checked your advanced call forward settings to ensure they are set to forward the calls? You can view to make sure it is not set up.
