Voicemail Notifications

We no longer receive voicemail notifications, and callers can't leave a message. When I finally got through to customer service today, they said it was turned off. He could not communicate how it got turned off, but could turn back on. He said it would take an hour. And it's now been 2 hours. Anyone know how to get this issue resolved? Thanks!
