Texts and Xfinity Voice
Anyone else have issues with folks assuming that they can send a text to your Comcast “land line?” Recently our veterinarian and lawn service provider tried to do that for notifications, and I had no idea they had done that.
When Comcast did away with messaging a couple of years ago, I should have revisited keeping Xfinity Voice. It’s just that we have had the same land line/VOIP number for 20 years and did not want to lose it.
I’m guessing that text notifications will never return to Xfinity Voice, and so perhaps we should just start using our T-Mobile cell numbers for everything. Which brings me back to the question of why keep Xfinity Voice? Does anyone know if I can transfer my phone number to a mobile service provider?

I know exactly what you mean, @MichaelWA ! I use text notifications for almost everything now, so having a landline became unnecessary. Have you checked with our awesome Xfinity Mobile experts for options to move your phone to mobile? They can be reached by texting or calling 1-888-936-4968 or through their chat site.
