telephone caller verification

Regarding the new feature that verifies a caller is valid, by putting a [V] in front of the caller's ID, can spoofers spoof the [V] with their caller ID, to pretend to be a verified caller?

I have received 2 calls this week with "V" in the caller ID and logged as Verified on my Xfinity call log.  Both calls were scams.  It appears that Xfinity Verified has been hacked,

Seems like if they can spoof a name/number on CID - which scammers do ALL the time - they surely could do the same with the [V]. I don't know what possessed Comcast to start using this, especially given there are a limited number of characters on Caller ID.

We like the feature. I'm sure that Xfinity will take care of any spoofing going on. No spam

calls....yet. We do use Nomorobo and usually add a few numbers weekly.
