Porting number from Vonage

Hello,

I am interested in switching to xFinity phone service but first want to know if I can port my number (currently with Vonage).  The person I spoke to said it wasn't possible to tell me this in advance, but I saw on other threads that people have been able to get this question answered.  Can someone help me with this?
