Having trouble connecting my fax to xfinity home phone line

I have my xfinity phone line connected to a Xerox c405. It dials the number seems to "ring" but it doesn't connect and doesn't send and then prints a sheet that says job undelivered

Thank you for reaching out to us about you phone concerns. I'm sorry that you fax message is not getting to the intended recipient. Unfortunately it sounds like your phone is working but the other sides fax is not picking up the line. Have you tried to reach out to the intended party? 

 

You can disconnect the fax and connect a phone to make a call to verify that the line is fully working.
