Gateways claim to link cordless phones

All the newer Xfinity gateways claim to link cordless phones directly through CAT-iq 2.0. At the bottom of the page it specifically says "CAT-iq 2.0 is a digital communication standard, used primarily for cordless phone systems. CAT-iq 2.0 handsets can be paired with the Wireless Gateway." I would assume this would be convenient so I don't have to run my phone through the house wiring to a base and I may be able to have more phones than my base can handle.. However, there are NO instructions anywhere on how this is done. Has anyone successfully linked a coordless phone directly to their gateway?

@user_05e14e Hello! I would be happy to look further into this for you and see what I can find on my end! May I ask what model gateway you are using?

@XfinityAbbie Hi, thanks. I have one of the new XB8s but the 6s and 7s also claim this capability.

Got it! Those phones normally have a wifi menu. Does that show on the cordless phone at all?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Yes it does. Connecting as a device to the gateway works but can't figure out how to associate it with my Xfinity home phone number and get it to ring.

Thanks for the details! Since you have it connected, are you able to get a dial tone at all?

I no longer work for Comcast.
