Does advanced call forwarding "Simultaneous Ring" the main Xfinity voice number?

Can someone with Xfinity voice for residential service confirm if "Advance Call Forwarding" is indeed what other VOIP's call "Simultaneous Ring"? i.e. adding other phone numbers under "Add to List" will simultaneous ring all the phones with these numbers, with caller id, while ALSO simultaneous ringing the main Xfinity Voice phone with caller id? Or does the main Xfinity Voice phone/number not ring?
Thanks,
M

Hello @roma95, and thank you for reaching out about the advanced call forwarding settings. That feature will ring on up to 5 phones at one time, and one of them will be the main home phone. The other 4 numbers will be those of your choosing, but 1 will be the main home phone. Let me know if there is anything more I can help you with! -Eric

@XfinityEricB ,

Thanks for your reply and while I like your answer, it contradicts what several Xfinity customer service reps have told me. I have heard that the main phone will not ring while also hearing that it may only ring one time but with no caller id. Can you please share an article that documents that the main home will also ring with caller id along with the phones that were forwarded? Also would like someone that uses this feature to also confirm it does work before I'm confident enough to switch to Xfinity voice.

Thank you.

Here is a link directly from our website stating the details https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/advanced-call-forwarding-voice-2go. If you look at the Note section on the bottom for the advanced call forwarding feature, it will state what I provided for you. Not sure why other agents wouldn't have the same information given that is what our information states. I apologize for any confusion.

@XfinityEricB ,

Yes, I see the note "You may forward calls to a maximum of five phone numbers – your Xfinity Voice number plus four others.", so sounds like you need to add your Xfinity Voice number under "Add to List" of numbers to have it also ring.

What about Caller Id though?

In below article, it says "When you have Call Forwarding activated on your home phone, Caller ID information is not delivered to your home phone. Instead, the Caller ID information is forwarded to the remote destination.". So this means the main Xfinity Voice number would ring but the Caller ID would not be displayed?

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/about-caller-id

The skeptic in me is hoping someone can confirm they have tried this and it works as documented or not.

Thank you.

I apologize, and I would like to back up a moment. What is it exactly you are trying to set up? Are you trying to get your phone to ring at home and somewhere else or something completely different?

Simply, I want to confirm that the main Xfinity voice number will ring with Caller ID at home while, at same time (i.e. simultaneously), ring any other (e.g. cell) phones listed under "Add to List" also with Caller ID. For example, if my mother-in-law calls our main Xfinity voice number, which is forwarded to my cell phone, will I know to ignore the call on my cell phone (as I don't want to talk to my mother-in-law) and my wife who is home will know to pick-up the call (as she see it's her mother and will want to talk to her)?

The call would actually only ring in the forwarded location. Selective call forwarding is another option that could allow for things to be a solid option for only pushing the calls to you that would be desired. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/forward-calls-with-call-forwarding

XfinityThomasB,

So by you saying that "The call would actually only ring in the forwarded location." then you are saying that what I'm looking for ("simultaneous ring") is not supported/will not work with Xfinity Voice.  This  directly contradicts what XfinityEricB said "That feature will ring on up to 5 phones at one time, and one of them will be the main home phone. The other 4 numbers will be those of your choosing, but 1 will be the main home phone.". So who am I to believe?

And no, Selective call forwarding would not solve what I'm looking for.

It would ring at the main number, however many rings you set that feature up for. If your mother-in-law calls and your wife is at home, she should be able to see the caller ID and answer the call before it forwards to your phone.
