Caller ID troubleshooting (Every caller is "Private Number, Out of Area")


I installed a new modem last week, and since then every caller on my landline shows as "Private Number, Out of Area". I have chatted with a few agents since, and have done all normal troubleshooting, but nothing has resolved the issue.

Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?

Hi, @user_4fc8b8. Let's take another look into this together. 

To send a direct message [private message]:

  •    Click "Sign In" if necessary
  •    Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  •    Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •    The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  •    - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  •    - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •    Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •    Press Enter to send it

Same problem!  Been around the world with agents who provide the same solutions over and over that don’t help!
Last rep told me it was my phone - tried 4 different phones, not a phone problem - definitely an xfinity issue - please HELP!!
