xumo box and peacock closed caption issue

I see so many posts for this issue with Peacock automatically having the closed captions each time the app starts and not being able to keep them off. Is there a solution to this yet? I have tried checking the Xumo closed caption settings, my TV closed caption settings, and the Peacock closed caption settings. ALL say they are off, yet I keep getting closed captions when I go to watch a show on Peacock AND a lot of the time they are not in sync with the show. PLEASE give us a fix for this! (OPTIONS FOR SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT ONLY GIVES CATEGORY AND TOPICS FOR FLEX - NOT XUMO, BUT THIS IS FOR XUMO!)

@user_01e4yy

Thanks for reaching out to us,  we do apologize for any inconvenience you're having with the closed caption options.

Closed captioning on Xumo Stream Boxes and Xumo TVs can be activated by pressing the ... (More) button on the remote and selecting "Closed Captions," or by holding the voice button and saying "Turn on closed captions". You can customize caption appearance and turn them on/off in the Settings > Accessibility menu. If the issue persists try doing a hard reboot on the wireless box by unplugging the power cord from the back of the box for 30 seconds and plugging it back in

To turn off closed captions (CC) on Peacock, start playing a video, press up or down on your remote to open the player menu, select the speech bubble icon (Subtitles/Audio), and set subtitles to "Off". If captions persist, try toggling them on and off again, restarting the app, or checking your device’s system-level accessibility settings

I started a ticket thru the XUMO experience portal and the "research team" said I had to go back to the first line call center people WHO DO NOT KNOW ANY MORE THAN WHAT YOU POSTED HERE.

Why even HAVE a "XUMO EXPERIENCE PORTAL" if not to directly be able to help?

Oh...wait....."XUMO Research Team" is just another name for "marketing team".

And Comcast wonders why people are leaving....
