Xfinity Flex video quality

I recently got the Xfinity Flex and am loving the content on it thus far, but unfortunately I noticed that the quality of the content is not as good as my Roku for my projector. The colors also seems to be dimmer than my Roku as I did a side by side comparison. The Flex allows me to pick 4k as the best quality in the video quality section, but the content seems to be 720p. This is especially noticeable on the home screen and free content available like HBO and STARZ. How can I actually get the HD content and get better colors that it says it is?

the numbered HD channels are in native 720p format, the local broadcast HD are in either 720p or 1080i.
