New Xi6-A wireless cable box

Simple question: If until today I watch my Xfinity cable using my XG1V4 box, where the signal enters through a coaxial cable, with the new Xi6-A wireless cable box, where does the signal enter through the box?, through the Wifi?, then do I have to use the Xfinity application?
